We are a radically inclusive multi-path spiritual community. We are Christians, we are Buddhists, we are Pagan, we are Hindu, we are Jewish, we are Kabbalahists and we are every other spiritual path. We believe that as spiritual beings we long to connect and when we come to a point that we no longer connect to the path we may or may not have been raised in, we seek a new place or path to connect. What we all want is connection to ourselves, to each other and to spirit.
Light of Love LA is a place where you can connect. We are a safe place to come connect and have community.
We are dedicated to COMMUNITY, EXPANSION and LOVE.
COMMUNITY: Our desire its to create an environment that encourages transparency and connection. In such a fast paced and transitory society, it’s not often that we’re able to actually connect. Many of us come from a smaller communities and church backgrounds where we have been able to have a community that is supportive and loving. We are here to be that place in a safe environment regardless to where you’re from.
EXPANSION: If we’re not expanding, we’re contracting. As spiritual beings we long to expand in understand, enlightenment and love. We are committed to both expanding and facilitating the expansion of one another. We do this through teaching as well as discussion.
LOVE: “…but the greatest of these is love.” The Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:13 The Bible mentions love around 500 times. Love is our greatest joy and our greatest responsibility. Love heals, love expands, love edifies. Love is the most powerful tool of transformation and the most powerful feeling. We are LOVE.
What to expect when you come.
Expect Music. Music has been used to facilitate connection to Deity through out the history of mankind from drums to vocal droning of meditation. We will spent time singing songs that are positive and uplifting.
Expect Meditation. We then spend time in meditation to clear our minds and refocus our energies into a place of community.
Expect Assertion. The group facilitator will share something that has caused them to expand over the week. The assertion may be from the the facilitator’s own experience, Bible, Quaran, the Gita, Zohar or from a contemporary author, speaker or text.
Expect Discussion. We will then discuss what the assertion meant to each of us or an example of our own experiences. The ultimate goal of the discussion is to teach other.
Expect Ministry. Ministry for us is focused group prayer and energy exchange. We all have time when we just need to “get it out” and to have people that will not judge and will support us through whatever it is we’re going through. The Bible calls it “Laying on of hands”, it’s also known in other forms as “therapeutic touch”, “reiki”, energy work. Shaman’s and medicine men would often use physical contact to heal, to extract a negative spirit or pattern. We touch, and love and heal during this time.
As a model, this is very much like a home church. Don’t be afraid. This is a judgment free zone. It’s just a model that we’ve grown accustomed to. Much of our teachings will be from a non-religious Christian perspective, but not all. If you’ve been hurt by the Christian church and have reevaluated your spiritual path or are in the process of doing so, this is the place for you.
